Gain Excellent Opportunity for Thought Leadership & Brand Promotion and Overall Understanding for Europe Nuclear Energy & SMR Industry

2024 SPONSORS & PARTNERS

In Europe, nuclear energy and Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) are gaining renewed attention as vital components of the energy transition. Despite challenges such as regulatory hurdles, public skepticism, and cost competitiveness, the future outlook for nuclear energy, particularly SMRs, are very promising. With their potential to mitigate climate change, enhance energy security, and spur economic growth, SMRs are being explored by several European countries as part of their energy mix. However, realizing this potential requires collaborative efforts among industry stakeholders, policymakers, and research institutions to address regulatory, financial, and societal challenges. By leveraging technological innovation and fostering a supportive regulatory environment, Europe can harness the transformative potential of nuclear energy and SMRs to achieve its climate objectives and ensure a secure and resilient energy future. By sponsoring ENES2024, you will establish deep connections with key stakeholders, leading the way towards a new chapter of clean and reliable energy in Europe.

Developed by STELLARIA, a start-up spin-off from the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique (CEA, French Nuclear State Agency) and SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC, the STELLARIUM project aims to study, develop and manufacture molten-salt fast neutron nuclear reactors to decarbonise industry. The reactor concept provides 250 MW of thermal power (heat at 600°C) or 110 MW of electrical power (electrical efficiency of 45%) during 20 years without. This is achieved using fast neutrons to fission and fertilise the fuel inside the reactor vessel. The reactor operates by natural convection in normal operation, which simplifies the design and increases the level of nuclear safety. This type of reactor is highly dispatchable, making it compatible with a wide range of industrial applications. All of the reactor's components are designed to be exchangeable, which facilitates maintenance and repair operations.
